This tour is filled with plot twists at every turn in the road. Much like a book club favourite, this tour will visit fresh sites and some familiar places. New this year is our visit to Montreal which makes the travel days shorter. Witness the hidden secrets of “BURY YOUR DEAD” in Old Quebec, which was the inspiration for this novel. Then travel to the Eastern Townships, known for their beauty and see first-hand why people return year after year.

Day 1   We find ourselves in downtown Montreal our hotel, a beautiful mid-century modern landmark with a rich history. You’ll appreciate the period-inspired artwork and sculptures that feel as though they were inspired by glassblowers from Italy. Le Cantlie Suites Hotel, Montreal, PQ

Day 2  Only a few blocks away and we find ourselves at the Montreal Museum of Fine Arts which houses one of North America’s largest and most important decorative arts and design collections. Don’t miss the burst of sunshine taking centre stage as you seek out Dale Chilhuly’s ‘The Sun.’ In keeping with our literary theme, we’ve hunted down a 2025 Michelin Guide restaurant which features the usual suspects for brunch. Spoiler alert, it is also mentioned in Louise Penny’s The Grey Wolfe.  Off to Quebec City where our hotel is situated within the walled city. We will spend the first 2 nights at Hotel Manoir Victoria, Quebec City, PQ (B,L)

Day 3
Based on Louise Penny's best-selling mystery novel, we’ll partake in a BURY YOUR DEAD walking tour that follows in the footsteps of Chief Inspector Armand Gamache as he investigates the murder of a local amateur archeologist whose body was found in the cellar of the Literary and Historical Society. Explore Old Québec's narrow streets and who knows, we might find Champlain together! Remainder of the afternoon and evening to explore on your own.  (B,L)

Day 4  Our coach winds it’s way through the Eastern Townships—a place where history whispers from every steeple and hangs between the mountains. And with it’s own story to tell, we’ll visit a rare treasure, half in Canada and the other half in the U.S., the Haskell Free Library and Opera House straddles nations, yet unites in it’s love for literature. We’ll set our compass to northwest for the serene grounds of Château Bromont, a retreat nestled beneath Mont Brome. Whether you sip a quiet glass of wine on the terrace or soak in the hot tub, this place offers a pause between chapters. We’ll stay 2 nights at the Hotel Château Bromont, Bromont, PQ (L)

Day 5  Morning finds us at the Abbaye de Saint-Benoît-du-Lac, where Gregorian chants rise like mist above the lake. Enter the quiet world of monastic grace, where the rhythms of prayer, architecture, and artisanal cheese-making unfold in harmony. Lunch is your own to savour in one of the nearby villages—a vignette of charm, offering cafés, patisseries, and antique-laden sidewalks to explore. We wrap up our tale in Knowlton and what a treat it will be to visit an English book store, in Quebec. Sip something refreshing, browse the stacks, and let the last page of this journey linger—and linger right back to the Château for our final night. (B)

Day 6  We return home with fond memories until our next adventure and like the final line of a good novel, both a goodbye and an invitation to return.  (B)
