Oh, where to start? This will be the ONLY overnight mystery tour we do this year – and it is to the USA. It is the perfect balance of ‘NEW to you’ spots to visit and some of my OLD favourites – but weighs in heavily on the tasty food side of things. Should have called it: Something Old, Something New…With a GORGEous View – and a Touch of Glass – but that seems wordy. And to top it off, the timing doesn’t get any better than this.
DAY 1 After crossing the border, we’ll jump off the highway and onto the road less traveled and past a handful of lakes. Put your hand up if you are ready to be schooled in the art of lunch. Later you’ll be in awe to see layer after layer of artistry applied to one-of-a-kind masterpieces. Soon we’ll find ourselves in a BOROUGH, or the 4th Most Beautiful Village in the State. Dinner is just a hop-skip-jump down the street. (L,D)
DAY 2 Just like that, a light bulb goes off and now things are clear as sand. While the beauty of art is in the hand of the beholder – the NEW fandangle way is a stencil. We’ll return in the afternoon for a walking tour of this GORGEous little village. Dinner’s gonna be interesting when you learn who the ‘rookie’ cook is. HINT – it’s not Kelly (B,L,D)
DAY 3 Come along and saddle up the ‘OLD’ something or other and head out on the ‘NEW’ route. The reward will be a GORGEous lunch. Later this afternoon the time is yours to wander about the village, there’s a diner, an art-deco movie theatre, lots of shops – and we may even entertain some pop culture. With all the fun things we’ve done, and sights you’ve sawed, simply shut your eyes and think of Wynken, Blynken and Nod (B,L)
DAY 4 The fun is not over yet, there’s ‘Noon at Tiffany’s’ followed by the most timely lunch you can imagine, an ōld tradition and nyuus food to tie you over until you get home. (B,L)
