At Fields Trips, we’re committed to making travel a force for good. Since becoming the FIRST Ontario Tour Operator to become Sustainable Tourism Certified, we’ve made the commitment to be more sustainable. This means taking steps to reduce our environmental impact while supporting the communities we visit.
Traveling by motorcoach—one of the most energy-efficient forms of transportation—is just the beginning. On our daytrips we partner with transportation providers, attractions and restaurants that prioritize sustainable practices as FIELDS TRIPS does, for example:
- The muffins liners we use are compostable – and placed in a compost bag
- No longer provide single-use water bottles, instead we can replenish your refillable water bottle
- Provide Bamboo utensils for meals which otherwise would have used plastic
- Locally sourced meals and ingredients are favoured
- Mindful of portion sizes on included meals – and suggest bringing a re-usable dish for leftovers
- Have the dessert boxed up and enjoyed later
- Opting out of daily hotel housekeeping by using the “Do Not Disturb” sign—saves water, energy, and resources along the way
- Motorcoaches use the least amount of energy and produce the lowest carbon dioxide emissions per pax km of any of the transportation modes in North America
We measure the carbon emissions associated with each of our land tours in North America and responsibly offset these emissions by purchasing carbon offsets to fund the Niagara Escarpment Forest Carbon Project. The project is Ontario's largest and Canada's second-largest land conservation agency.
Please remember - You are a part of this journey. Together, it’s about doing more good and leaving a positive impact wherever we travel.
