This new ‘CLOSER TO HOME’ 2-day Ontario tour will have you UNCORKING and UNWINDING the whole way through. PRINCE EDWARD COUNTY is an island on the north shore of Lake Ontario, characterized by a rural lifestyle with an urban flavour. And flavour is what we will UNCOVER in Ontario's fastest growing wine region. With growing conditions like those in France — it’s no wonder the County is a hot spot for chefs, foodies, and wine lovers.
Day 1 Our first stop on the island is for lunch and a tasting at a barn tracing its roots to the Loyalist days. Our next stop will have you feeling like you are home in Italy with the vine lined laneways and lush vineyard. Late afternoon finds us at our hotel. Overlooking the scenic Bay of Quinte and surrounded by lush trails our Harbourview Hotel is the place to retreat and relax. We take advantage of the location and have dinner at a waterside restaurant that is sure to LURE you in. (L, D)
Day 2 A morning farm stop has lavender, bees, mead wine all rolled into one visit where the sommelier takes us through a structured tasting. Next head over to Carson’s Garden Market where you will be welcomed by one of Canada’s TV gardening experts, Carson Arthur. His retail store caters to anyone who loves gardening and the outdoors. A tasty lunch is included. Stops will be made for convenience ONroute home. (B, L)
