Oh, my goodness where to start, this tour has it all, so many pieces to the puzzle. Part SIGNATURE TOUR because it is NEW and close to home, so traveling will be minimal but time exploring, enjoying, and wandering will be maximum. Part MYSTERY TOUR…well now if I told you about all the hidden gems, it wouldn’t be a mystery! Part RESORT TOUR since we will be staying at Pinestone Resort complete with indoor pool, golf course and oodles of serene scenery. This tour is an awesome balance of nature (aka walking) and nurture (aka eating). Come Wander

Day 1  By midday we will be in Haliburton Highlands featuring Canada’s most diverse underlying geology and scenic vistas of land, water, and rockscapes that uniquely defines the region’s rural tourism character, charm and heritage. (think of it like Algonquin Park but without the crowds) You’ll have a chance to walk-off your lunch at Minden’s’ scenic Riverwalk. We venture a bit further east and find ourselves smack dab in the middle of the Geocaching Capital of Canada. Geocaching (pronounced geo-cashing) is a friendly outdoor game. It is often referred to as “treasure hunting with a twist” and many of our stops will play along to help you piece together the puzzle.  Prepare to be blown away at this traditional artist’s studio – meet the designers, makers, owners and (honestly) the chief bottle washers. Soon check-in to our home for the next 2 nights. Pinestone Resort & Conference Centre, Haliburton, ON (L)

Day 2 First up this morning is a visit to Haliburton Forest, aside from the 100,000 acres, 100 lakes and millions of trees, it is a sustainably managed forest…but what is really cool is our visit to the Wolf Centre. With live wolfcams and wolf exhibits you can always catch a glimpse of the wolves as they wander through their large, naturally forested environment. Another real neat experience is a kennel visit and meet teams of sled dogs, when they are not working. Now that you have worked up an appetite, join us at the Basecamp Cookhouse for a hearty lunch. Return to the resort to enjoy the beautiful surroundings, or snooze before we take to the slopes of Sir Sam’s Ski Hill for a bird’s eye photo. After dinner, we’ve planned a fun games night. (B,L,D)

Day 3 The treasure hunt continues for missing pieces of the puzzle at the Haliburton Sculpture Forest, a unique outdoor collection of sculptures. Enjoy lunch at repurposed gravel pit before making our way home (B,L)
