Day 1 A duty free stop will be made before crossing into the USA. Stops for breaks and convenience will be made before arriving in Chicago, our home for the next 4 nights. Dinner is included at an authentic Chicago Pizza restaurant. Fairfield Inn & Suites, Chicago IL (D)
Day 2 A city tour will highlight all that Chicago has come to be known for and will certainly unveil some secrets. There will be time over lunch to explore the State Street Shopping area. Afterwards, the remainder of the afternoon is at your leisure. The motor coach will provide transportation for both of the OPTIONS a) view Chicago from a higher angle, the SKYDECK b) take in a Chicago White Sox ballgame. We’ll provide details on tickets once the game has been officially announced. (B)
Day 3 A free morning and the motor coach will act as your shuttle to Oak Park, the neighbourhood inspired by Frank Lloyd Wright. We tour through his home and studio where he experimented with design concepts that contain the seeds of his architectural philosophy. Trained interpreters offer insight into Wright's family life and architectural career. We will also have a guided tour of Oak Park-the largest concentration of Frank Lloyd Wright homes in the world. (cost is approx. $40 US per person) Later, see Chicago from another perspective as you cruise through the centre of the city on an exciting boat cruise along the Chicago River. Marvel at the architectural landmarks and hear the dramatic story of Chicago’s rise from the Great Fire of 1871 to become the home of skyscrapers and the cradle of Modern Architecture. (B)
Day 4 A free day and the motor coach will act as your shuttle for shopping on Magnificent Mile, meeting up with optional tours, or a visit to the Museum Campus with stops at: Shedd Aquarium, Field Museum of Natural History, Adler Planetarium, Art Institute of Chicago. (B)
OPTIONAL evening at Tommy Gun’s Garage - Chicago’s Only Speakeasy Dinner Theatre where you will relive the Roaring Twenties amid Gangsters and Flappers with plenty of hilarious audience participation. (cost is approx. $68 US per person)
Day 5 A relaxing journey home will find us crossing the border by early afternoon. A lunch stop will be made prior to entering Canada.
